What are the differences between these 2 NICs?

The version with the L on the end of the part number doesn't even come with a driver disk.
 
Same card just differeny packaging. One comes packed in a plastic shell and thats it. The other is in a box with a driver disc.

I purchased this NIC as used on ebay for $10 plus free shipping. I guess that's a pretty good deal consider it is Intel branded. :D

I am able to use this NIC to get a direct connection from my Win7 PC to my gigabit NAS Thecus N4100EVO using the NAS's 2nd port without the need of crossover cable.

I am configuring it this way so it doesn't interference with my normal network traffic on my home router.
