WEP with windows 2000

Where do I put in my WEP key at? I updated to service pack 4 and I can enable 802.1x but I don't see where to put in my WEP key.I have a MN-700 wireless router
 
That option is possible either through the properties of your network card or more likely through the setup program for your wireless card.
 
I installed the drivers but there is no tab for security. THere is a tab for authentication where I can enable 802.1x but I don't see anywhere to input a WEP key
 
Uncheck the box in the properties to "let windows configure your wireless network" Thats how I helped a friend having similar issues.After checking that, then you can get into the propietary utility that your card came with.
 
he is using windows 2000 not xp.

This might sound like a dumb question but do you have a wireless card?

Who is the MFG and what is the model number of the card?
 
Well I got it to work but I had to install the microsoft software which I really didn't wan tto do. Yes I have a wireless card its a Microsoft MN-730
