So no knock against the card, cause it's not installed yet. But I just wanted to point out how completely idiotic I was.
So in my excitement in ordering a new sound card to replace the venerable sound blaster z (out of curiousity, and because the roar was only $5 for me to get because of various extra gift cards), I completely didn't realize that the Asus Strix Roar doesn't have Front Panel connectors at all.
F'ing...idiot....I got it for a portable gaming box that exclusively uses the front ports for audio.
Now the decision to either ship it back, or run a loop through....sigh.
Anyone have a sound card that's pretty amazing, has a front panel amp, but also less than $100?
