I'm having a wierd problem with my MSI K8N Neo Platinum: it won't run any RAM at DDR400. This includes RAM that runs just fine on other boards at that speed. This happens at any RAM timings. The only way I can get it to boot successfully to windows is to drop my RAM speed to 333. Does anyone know how to fix this, or is my board fubared?

Set memory timings to T2 and CAS to 3.

Run relaxed memory settings like 3-3-3-10.

I did change the command rate, but the memory is rated 2.5-3-3-7, so you think it would do that. I'll give it a try and see what happens though.

I was having similar problems, i solved it by populating the first two ram slots one green and one purple, which it does say to do in manual if you are using DDR400 ram, double sided.

Ok, I tried loosening the timings, but windows still won't boot with it unless I back off to DDR333. What should I do now? Get a new board?

No diferring color RAM slots. This is the s754 mobo, not the Neo2 for 939.

Yeah, MSI is weird in that you have to populate alternating ram slots.

I'll try it, thanks.
