I took out my amd 290 out from main PCIe slot and installed Nvidia 560ti but I get no signal on the monitor, computer boots and it loads windows because I can hear the welcome screen.

Then I take out the 560ti out of the main PCIe slot and I install it on PCIe 2 slot and it works.

So then I take it out again and I install the amd 290 back in the main PCIe slot and everything works fine.

All this is done with video card drivers completely removed before inserting the video cards in.

I had the Nvidia 560ti installed in the main slot while back, it was working fine.

what is causing the problem?

Mobo: Asus Z87-Pro
CPU: Intel 4770k

Update your motherboard bios.

I am using the latest bios, as I always have.

like I said, I had the 560ti work in the primary PCIe spot before.

for some reason I think it is outputting the signal thru the mini HDMI, I have no way to connect anything thru it since the lame mini hdmi port broke while back.

Try pulling the CMOS battery between swapping cards?

I would pull it and wait a few minutes, then try and boot with the 560ti.

WHOA they had amd290s 560ti and pci express slots in 1994?
I thought Biofroge and doom 1 and 2 was high tec out side of sgi workstations and arcades.

i dont think pci or agp slots work anything like pci express and the new versions of windows..
