Weird Account and path problem in XP

This computer had a corrupted profile, and was dumping everything in a 'temp' folder under the 'documents and settings' path.
I've repaired the profile, but a bunch of stuff still points at the temp folder. I've gone into the registry and pointed everything at the user folder, but when I reboot, it's all back to the /temp folder. Anyway to fix this?

i know it is anot always an option but for me i would back up what i need to and format.

Yeah, not gonna do that.
Got to be some way to tell that profile that "hey, the stuff for your profile is over HERE, dumbass.."
I did it with "my documents", but that was easy, just tell it where the path is. I don't see anything like that for an entire profile though.
