web browser problem

My grandmother called me today and asked me to help her access her email. I went over there and found out that the "sign in" button at comcast.net was not showing up. I was able to click on the area where the button is supposed to show, and that worked fine, but I can't figure out how to get it to appear.

This issue is also happening on navigation bars on other websites.

Currently she is using firefox (just updated to 3.0), but the same issue occurs in IE. I've tried rebooting the computer, but that did not solve the issue (that's really the extent of my knowledge)

Any ideas?
