Anything you'll be letting run 24/7 the WD Red NAS drives are the way to go. And like others have said, get 2 and do a RAID1. Then get a 3rd for backing up that RAID1 .
 
Elements will be a 5X00 RPM drive while the black drive is 7200 RPM. The black drive is better suited for a games drive while the Elements is better suited for 24/7 movies storage because of its lower power usage.
 
I say this as someone who has answered questions in this thread, we need to just stop replying to this guy. He's been a member for 6 days, during which - as of right now - he has 130 posts, 100% of which consist of him asking folks to compare "x product vs y product". Power supplies, CPUs, hard drives, SSDs, the list goes on and on. He's not actually participating in conversation, he's just running some weirdo 1v1 hunger games conversation threads. I don't know if he's trying to drum up a post count so he can participate in FS/FT or if he has some other motive, but I'm going to report him for trolling either way.

The disks in the enclosure are usually the same as the red drives afaik, a lot of people buy those when on sale and remove the disk from the enclosure to use as internal ones as they are the same but cheaper.

the only reason to get an external drive is if you have to move it around between different computers or have no spare internal connectors left.

In any case you can not go wrong with a WD black drive as several people already told you b4
