also notice it is a USB2.0 enclosure, which implies the drive inside is of a older model. but still a good deal
 
Why is it always external drives that are on sale? Is there a reason that they're often cheaper than the bare drive equivalents? Are they selling off lower quality units at a lower RPM?
 
I think this is a WD green drive inside the enclosure. Thinking about buying and taking out the drive since it seems to be cheaper than buying bare drive.

They sometimes sell them with less of a warranty

It is a bit of a crap shoot. Hitachi was selling USB 2.0 externals with 7200rpm drives for a while.

In this case, I would be inclined to think it was a green drive.
