Waymo Expands Self-Driving Car Partnerships With Businesses in Metro Phoenix

Waymo has expanded its early rider program services through key self-driving car partnerships in the metro Phoenix, AZ area. As detailed in a new blog post, Walmart will give early riders a discount on groceries for orders placed online and a Waymo vehicle will transport them to and from the Walmart location. Business travelers staying at the Element Hotel will have access to Waymo vehicles during their stay. Autonation will utilize the self driving vehicles as loaner cars for customers getting their cars serviced and AVIS will use the cars to assist customers in dropping off and picking up rental cars.

While these are Metro Phoenix-specific partnerships today, these businesses are national and what we learn from these programs will give us a network of partners when we launch in new cities down the road.
