Which is why you have mutiple cards. One you use for automatic payments, and another card you use for gas, eating out, etc.
I also have a 3rd card that I use at places I don't completely trust (small web sites, etc)

And then you run the risk of having a card compromised and not realizing it until days or weeks later which makes it that much harder to clean up. You just need to get into a habit of checking your accounts every couple of weeks for suspicious activity even if you haven't used the card.

I use either cash or a CC. I don't own a debit card need or want one.

Y'alls banks must fucking suck if its that much of a hassle to get debit fraud taken care of. The one time my card number was stolen it was my credit union calling me to ask me if it was legit and they reversed the charges right then over the phone.

Now all banks are created equal and not all CR reps are equal as well. Why be at the banks Mercy? If the Fraud is a slow trickle and they miss it the effect could dramatic. Next bounced checks. Inability to pay bills...credit hit which might cost you money etc. All easily fixed by using a credit card, so why take the risk?

Not sure why people are so adverse to credit cards, why not use one to your advantage? Take the 1% discount. Pay it off monthly. Rinse and repeat.

What do banks miss more, your money or their money?
