Warm...EVGA gtx 970s for $99 and 980 FTW for $130

780 Ti = $49
970 = $99
980 = $139
980 Ti = $199

It's so weird to think that that 780 Ti was still pretty badass about 2 years ago.

980ti still a pretty capable card today. VRAM not going to hold you back as much as the other cards.

I picked up a 980TI, should be a nice upgrade to my 780(non TI)
Question, will the 980 heatpipes/cooling be OK with a vertical placement? IO ports facing up.
Thanks

Dammit, I wish I saw that 780Ti--that is still a fast card for regular stuff.

If it's a blower model, I could actually see that helping as heat rises. If it's an acx cooler I think it will depend on where the heat ultimately exits the case.

The 780 Ti is still there. It's about on par for a lot of things with the 1060. Really tempting to pick up one of those just because.

my 780 is doing great. I love the damn thing in my spare pc

Tempted to replace my 670 in my htpc but idk how that 970 would do with a universal water block. Hm...

For 20 bucks more you could have bought a brand new GTX 1660 that is just as fast and uses half the power...

Where do the 1660s fit in the hierarchy of things? I thought they jumped from the the 1060/70/80 line to 2000s

I was a using a spare 780 ti for a while between my 1080 ti and VII. It still handles games at 1080p (and some games at higher resolutions) admirably. It definitely outmodes the 970 in speed (which is selling for twice as much); It's really just the VRAM that holds it back. I'd say a steal at $50.

980 TI is 6% faster than 1660 TI.

Is there a non TI 1660? If so then it must really get creamed by the 980TI

And where are you pulling that claim from? According to Techpowerup, the gtx 980 ti was 21% faster than the gtx 1060. https://tpucdn.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_1060/images/perfrel_2560_1440.png

And the plain gtx 1660 is 21% faster than the gtx 1060 in their 1660 review. https://tpucdn.com/reviews/MSI/GeForce_GTX_1660_Ventus_XS/images/relative-performance_2560-1440.png

That makes the plain gtx 1660 exactly the same speed as the 980 Ti. Yet here you are claiming the the 980 Ti is faster than even the 1660 Ti? My guess is you simply misread a graph or looked at some theoretical BS.

That's why I like waiting and buying slightly older tech. Got a r9 Fury X for less than $300 3 years ago (brand new I think it was $649 in 2015 and in less than one year dropped to under $300). People who don't own water cooled GPUs don't know what they are missing. Going to upgrade to a 1080ti water cooled GPU in maybe 5 years.

And I as I just showed, its stupid in some cases. It would be idiotic to buy an old 980 ti for 200 bucks when you can get a brand new efficient 1660 that is just as fast for only 20 bucks more.

It sounds like maybe you found a chart of 980TI vs 2060 and got mixed up with 1060 or somethiong

This would make sense, but when a 980Ti is $130 shipped, the value play goes to the 980Ti.

TI was 200 no?

Im still wanting to see a 1660 preform like a 980TI ... it's like 2060 vs 1080TI lol

EDIT:

'Hey guys this card only costs $20 more, but it uses half the power (while running at half the GPU power of the cheaper card)

lol....

Sounds like you fail at basic reading comprehension so open your eyes and look at the graphs I linked to as they explain exactly what I said. And of course you linked to some theoretical bullshit just like I thought you would. That site you linked to is a fucking joke for directly comparing video cards. I linked you to a site that compared actual video games.

At this point I can't tell if you're trolling or you just enjoy making a fool of yourself. I've already flat-out proven to you that the 1660 is just as fast as the 980ti. And just twenty bucks more for a brand new card that is just as fast makes a hell of a lot more sense to reasonable people. The fact that it uses half the power is just another benefit. There would seriously have to be something wrong with your logic if you think getting an older outdated card that uses twice the power just to save 20 bucks over getting a brand new card of equal performance makes sense at all.

All the good/cheap stuff is gone.

Too bad they don't have any more of the non-ti 980's for $69 (it says auto notify)... that's bargain power right there. $100 for 970 is "ok" I guess. $169 for the out of stock 980ti is ok too.

The 980 kingpin would have been a great deal if they really were $69, but besides that .. eh. Good deals if you want the warranty. The cheapest shipping to get to me is $15 and tack on sales tax and we're in ebay price range anyway. I may buy a 780 Ti if they relist them just for the fun of it though.
