No not exactly, despite the higher clocks the 2 strikes against the 7600GT are 1] the 128 bit memory 2] the 12 pixel pipelines. Basically, the 7600GT is about [and I stress about] on par with the 6800Ultra. Tom's Hardware's new vga charts do show the x850xt stills beats out the 7600GT in many benchmarks

but yeah, you could push the crippled G70 harder and for more performance then the G73 of the 7600GT.

course if your nuts and are totally keeping AGP, the Gainward 7800GS+ has a G71 @500MHz core

i too am ditching the trusty atholon XP, only me in december. Boxing day man. its more X-mas then X-mas will ever be. an X2 3800+, a 570 mobo, a 7900gs, yup gonna be schveet.

Well the pci-e 7600GT's have been known to push into the 7xxMhz range on their cores
