want a blast from the past?

I was digging through some boxes last week and found a stash of PSX demo CDs.. pretty nostalgic too!
 
I still remember Coconut Monkey and this idea of having PC Gamer discs that had their own graphical, visual, UI that was supposed to be adventure game like.
They never ran super well though, and I really wonder if they had thought that aspect through. Still, there aren't any publication creating those kinds of things now, and there certainly isn't any game company giving out demos like that to drive interest.
The world is a much different place though. Demos and magazines were the only real way of raising awareness and profile of lesser known games. The internet obviously has replaced a need to establish and create such a system. Still great nostalgia though.
