WAN IP is a private IP

I suddenly began to get very slow internet speed, sporadic connections, then complete disconnect. Logged into my router and instead of the usual external IP address, I had 192.168.100.20. I released and renewed and got a normal IP back. Any clue what could cause that?

Your ISP likely doing network changes on their end.

Yep, if your modem resets it will issue an address like that. Try 192.168.100.1 and see if you can look at your modem logs--might give an idea if what's up.
