Hi all,

Having been inspired by a few other wall mounted PCs, I decided to build my own.

I used my existing hardware, but separated each component out and mounted them on a Perspex/Plexiglass plate. Each plate is backlit with LED's and mounted on a piece of framed and vinyl-clad hardboard.

2 months, around 20 individual shipments of components from three different continents, and countless hours of hard work later, 'The RecoilMachine' is ready and hanging on my wall.

I have also uploaded a video of the rig on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXiyYCbPrt0

The water-cooling system is a simple loop that covers both GPUs and the CPU, and bleeds the heat through one 360mm radiator wih three 120mm fans running at 1200 rpm. The pump is running at its lowest setting, which is still easily enough to keep temperatures down. Consequently, the whole system is very quiet.
Idle temps for CPU and GPUs are 38 C, and 32 C respectively.
Load temps for CPU and GPUs are 63 C, and 68 C respectively.
The temperature of the water in the loop never exceeds 30 C.

◄ Main System specs ►
Gigabyte EX58-UDP5 (Rev 1.0)
Intel Core i7 920, 2.66 GHz
Asus GTX 590 1.5GB
Samsung 250GB SSD 840 EVO SSD
Western Digital 1TB Caviar Black Hard Drive
Seagate 1TB Hard drive

◄ Water cooling specs ►
Aquacomputer Cuplex Kryos Delrin CPU water block
Alphacool Laing D5 Vario Pump
Monsoon Series Two Dual 5.25in Reservoir
Alphacool NexXxoS NVXP NV 590 Series GPU water block
Phobya G-Silent 12 1200rpm Fans, Black Silent Edition
Black Ice GTS-Lite 360 Radiator
Masterkleer Tubing PVC 19/13mm
19/13mm Compression Fitting 45° Rotary G1/4
19/13mm Compression Fitting 90° Rotary G1/4

The system is overclocked around 30% using a simple BCLK and voltage buff in the BIOS.

Let me know what you think

Looks awesome! I think it would look even better with some kind of case for the hard drives and SSD though. The default drive info on the back doesn't look nearly as clean as the rest of your build. Thats an incredibly nice and artistic build though. Love the cable management too.

Epic. That is very, very cool. Makes me kind of want to do it myself!

I really like how each component has it's own little "pad" to display on, and the lights below each one really make each piece pop. Love the attention to detail. Great idea and execution. Bravo!

Thanks dude :)

Why not remove the bracket (silver bit covering the connectors) on the GPU? Its not needed.

agreed. I want one!

Very, very slick!
I've been toying with an open-air setup for my next build - you've inspired me greatly! I especially like the off-board mounting of the GPU. How is it mounted? I think I can see a bolt attached to the rear I/O shield, but I'm assuming it's supported at the other end as well?

Yes, it has a bolt holding it firmly in place, but in addition it is sitting on two 90 degree brackets that poke through holes in the hardboard.

Looks fantastic. Probably going to model my own build after this and a few other similar builds.

Clean & amazing build but there must be a way to turn of those LEDs right? :D

Turn them off?? Are you crazy?? ;)
I guess I could have fitted a switch, but it is actually fine - expecially in daylight when it is just a subtle glow.

i love it, my only though is take the labels off the hard drives... would look much cleaner :D

At first glance, the radiator setup seemed flat against the wall and looked like a bad idea. But now I see the spacing you put behind it. Are those fans pushing or pulling?

This is awesome. Like PC art or porn. :)

I like the idea of removing the HD labels for a cleaner look.

That looks amazing. I was impressed enough I bothered the wife to take a look.

I want to see some black sheathing on the DC feed to the pump

Very nice setup! Everything looks great, except the plain old Dell keyboard looks out of place with a custom setup like yours!

I would love to pay for a set up like that...Keep me in mind if you want to do another one.

I love it; how did you mount the power supply?
Also, please resize your images. :)

Unfortunately I cant resize the images because they are uploaded on a different forum and linked from there.
Anyway - the PSU is resting on 2, 90 degree metal brackets and fixed with another two brackets with screws, using the existing screw holes in the PSU.

upload them to imgur.com, you can resize them on imgur or download your images, resize in paint, then upload to imgur.

wow! late to the party but that is great. This is my first time seeing something like this... If you don't mind me asking whats the backing material? Is it a wood frame that you wrapped with CF?

Looks great, but with all the emerging science showing how bad blue light is (especially those super bright LEDs) are for the human body, I would have chosen another color, or at least a way to turn them off. Blue lights have been linked to everything from sleep disturbance/thyroid issues/cancer.

I would love to see the same build but done with red LEDs..They also wouldn't ruin your night vision if you tend to turn the lights off at night for gaming etc..

At first I didn't see the big deal, but I do see the point others have saying the removal of the drive lettering would look "cleaner"..Also not sleeving that pump lead is just plain criminal compared to all the other detail and love you clearly put into this project!!

Links?

The board is made from one big piece of hardboard, mounted on a simple timber frame.
