What do you guys think about VR games in casinos? Personally, I live in Las Vegas and I just don't see it becoming popular but then again, people will bet on damn near anything so who knows?

"When you start the experience you basically choose a bet amount - I think right now it's $15, $25, and $50 are the ranges of what you can bet - and then once the player's starting, the other people that are watching use tablets to bet on how well they think you're going to do. So if you jump in and you're playing, you're going to have three different challenges and goals and different rewards for things and then, as I'm watching you, I can bet on, 'Ok, I bet that James is going to have at least 70% accuracy because he's a pretty good shot.
 
I can't really see this catching on, especially considering how unlikely it is that a lot of game developers and publishers would want their games associated with Vegas style gambling.
 
From what I've seen of casinos...I don't think that particular audience is going to be that interested in VR FPS games.
 
VR in this sort of venue will rapidly go the way of LazerTag. It might do ok for a bit though.
 
Yeah, living in Reno and given the general demographic of casino regulars I can't imagine this pulling in much business. If it were up to me I'd demolish every casino downtown and replace them with hotels that weren't complete eye soares and fill them with attractions like this (without the gambling) and other activities better suited for a larger demographic of people.
 
I get freaked out by the idea of putting something on my face a stranger was wearing.

An interesting diversion from the standard Vegas faire to be sure; however, I doubt VR will supplant the more popular attractions in sin city until the major hurdles of the technology are addressed.

But hey, even Quark's had holodecks, so perhaps this is indicative of the future.
 
The folks who go to Casinos don't seem to care about personal interaction or hygiene so maybe VR will take off fine there.
