Seems too good to be true. Not saying this is what they are doing but I'd be suspicious.

  1. Sell "lifetime" subscriptions cheap.
  2. Act as CEO collecting a huge salary.
  3. Go "bankrupt".
  4. Profit.

Been using them for a while now....Not exactly a fly by night place, but anything is possible, however the service has been great for me for the year or so I have been using them, so I went ahead with the life time service.

sounds like last stop before closing their virtual doors

The reason they can sell it so cheaply is because people buy the service rarely use it. I bought it six months ago, tried it, and never used it again because of some shady stuff I noticed about their client.

You can't connect to them using a stock OpenVPN client. They use a modified version of OpenVPN, which I think is GPLed and they have not released the source to their client. But the worst part about this service is that it takes too long to connect. Why? Because it actually downloads an executable file and runs it before any data can flow. It promptly deletes the executable after running it.

Don't get this shady service. Seriously.

I signed up under the stack social deal last year. The client sucks, the speed generally sucks.Waste of 30 bucks or whatever I paid. Find a VPN provider that uses a standard openvpn client.

Why would anyone fall for something like this? C'mon.....

What a scam. It's a marketing gimmick that can't hold its ground.

The company must be desperate for customers, so ... save your money and spend it elsewhere on a company that is stable and reliable.

and it still works as a lifetime sub, so..not sure what you're on about.

They buggered the UI and functions with remake. Like a lot of apps these days it has a mind of it own that you have to fight with. I don't even use it anymore. Can't even say what the point of the pay version is becasue the active monitor is just a pest you don't need if your not going to Whackjackistan porn sites every day. For some reason, it seems security apps just have to self destruct with "improvments" at some point.

I'm a big fan of CyberGhost 5 - works great for me --- super-fast downloading! :)

I tried at least five different services and settled on AirVPN. Not the cheapest, but support is pretty good and their product/features/speeds were the best by far.
