I’ve been thinking about building a Voron, and I’m particularly drawn to the Voron 2.4R2 (rev D). I’m planning to get an LDO kit, but I’m not sure if that’s the latest release or the one with the nicest components.

I don’t really need it, but I just want to do it for the fun of it. I was also thinking about pre-ordering the Prusa Core One, but that got me thinking more about building a Voron.

I know it’ll be a lot of work and a lot more money, but I’m not afraid of that. I will not source every part, and I’m not opposed to spending extra on a nicer kit.

I’ve been watching a bunch of YouTube videos and reading the manuals online to get a better idea of what I need to do.

Recommendations on a super nice kit?

Self sourced every component? As opposed to getting a semi kit and then getting the components you want?
Correct. Costs a bit more but as I am an electrical engineer during the day, sourcing parts was no problem. The bill of materials is on the website also with vendors for the parts, which you can use or purchase elsewhere if you want.

I've had building a Voron in the back of my head for a while now. The LDO kit is one of the better ones in my research. West3D has a nice configurator if you want to go high-end. https://west3d.com/products/west3d-voron-v2-4-configurator

Vzbot is a newer design. AWD is pretty cool. The Voron community is more established, though, and it has a lot more mods available. Can't go wrong IMO.

Thanks. Then I discovered the RatRig. Been watching videos on that too.

My current project is the Ender NG. It's very new still, but a well-thought out design and had the added benefit of letting me reuse most of the extrusions from my Ender 3.

I did not know about this. I could use another project to start and not finish though. My cr-10 is still halfway becoming a voron switchwire lol.

Another viable option for me is simply getting a Prusa One. Absolutely will be cheaper than what I am thinking of.

Also, it’ll work. Which isnt the case with everything I assemble.
