Voltage Mods on Sapphire 7950 on Linux

Hey guys... I want to undervolt my Sapphire 7950's, all models. Seems like it is impossible to do it on BAMT Linux from what I've read. If I am mistaken please let me know how.

Otherwise, are voltage changes made to the actual hardware itself, permanently? Meaning what if I install it into my Win7, use TriXX to undervolt, and then put it back into BAMT, will that work without complications?

Also, is there a difference between using TriXX or flashing the BIOS for this process?
