Vista & XP dual boot app install question

I already have Vista and XP in a dual boot. This is my setup.

C: XP
D: Vista
E: Apps
F: data

Here is my question if I have an app like Office installed on E: from within XP, Can I just reinstall Office (or any other app) from within Vista onto drive E: and have the app work in both OSes?

Something like Office might not work, because if it's need to reach into many areas of the system. However, small utilities should work that way without issue.

Just be aware that should you break the dual boot and go with only one OS, those shared utilities may not function anymore. It seems like most who dual boot end up ditching their XP partitions soon after.

Absolutely NOT. You need to install it under the OS you want to use it in and keep them seperate.
