I'm looking to buy a relatively cheap (less than ~$30USD) USB webcam.

My number 1, over-riding priority is that it have good, solid support for Vista x64.

There are some other issues I'll want to take into account too (how easy is the IR filter to remove, how much CPU time does it consume, etc), but they are moot if the device doesn't support Vista x64 well.

Thanks in advance, all.

I have a Logitech 9000 Pro which I know is outside your price range but I think all of Logitech's web cams work with Vista x64 and most of their web cams are pretty good so you should find something from them around your price range. I've been happy with my 9000.

i use the Microsoft VX-6000 lifecam , vista 64
doesn't use much resources , good driver support & nice quality cam ... i got mine for around 40$ After rebate

Using an MS LifeCam VX-5000 here, love it, real 64 bit drivers, doesn't load a bunch of junk background services, very well reviewed for it's low light capability.
