Hey,

I have a fairly odd problem with hibernation mode on my PC.

It seems that no matter what I do, my PC will always awaken from hibernation at 3am. I've checked every setting that I can think of, and I've taken a look at all of my schedule tasks, but to no avail. I don't have anything scheduled for 3am, and I haven't seen a setting for hibernation that I'll hibernate my computer at any time, and at exactly 3:00am it will boot itself back up.

Would anybody be able to offer some assistance?

Check your Windows Update settings to see if it's set to scan for updates at it's default time (coincidentally, 3AM daily) and change it to a time when the computer is expected to be running (e.g. 8PM). IIRC, you can turn off this waking up behavior of Windows Update entirely through the Group Policy Editor. Google it.

If that's not the case, hit the Application and System logs in Event Viewer and see if you can trace the cause of these wake-ups, whether it be a service or a USB device.

Ah, I completely forgot about Windows Update. That was scheduled for 3:00am. Thanks.
