What do you consider cheap? You can get Vista Home Basic for $90.00 and Home Premium for $95

There are different flavors of vista-basic,home premium,business and ultimate
The cheapest is the basic under $100 with no aero,there rest are above $100 unless you go with my deal

Get Home premium at the least.

Dual core support should be reason enough.

[Edit] Sorry didn't see that there was a logical vs. physical processor distinction. Home basic should support dual core cpus.

I still recommend Home premium though.

Check out Google for Vista deals....I found one in about 15 seconds for $74 Vista Home Premium

Home Premium is very likely what you want, yes; for the price difference Home Basic is missing so many features it's not worth it.
