I have Vista Business SP1 and I one day decided to reboot (shouldve known thats a bad idea with Microsoft Operating systems lol) and I had a torrent client running, so I guess thats what caused this whole thing...After reboot, I get no networking icon on the taskbar, if I open up Network, its blank, or going to the properties, I get a blank window that just says "Page failed to load" I scoured the net and found alot of people with similar problems, no common resolution to making it work, however I tried:
sfc /scannow and read the CBS log to find out there are two files that corrupted and cant be recovered by Windows (wlanutil.dll and a HotStart.adml) I couldnt find anything on the latter, but i ran a chkdsk /F /R to find TONS of corruption on the drive, but not quite sure where to go from here.
I dont have a Recovery file to work with to replace those files (if even just to try) and System Restore didnt do sh!t.
Worst part is, everything else on the OS works fine - its just one of those Vista things...works for a bit, then something else breaks.
Help?
