My battery life has been cut in half with the installation of vista.
Whats that program called for laptop power management? I think im gonna try it..

Did you disable the original power management in order to run the laptop at "full speed"?

SpeedStep or C'nQ work fine in Vista. I've used Vista Beta 2/RC1 on both Intel and AMD laptops. Many video drivers have performance profiles for AC and battery operation.

It is likely to lose battery time with Vista with Aero enabled, but with standard power saving it's not very much.

I heard that Vista would be horrible for battery life because of all the aggressive pre-fetching and, of course the snazzy UI, not to mention it just puts a much higher strain on your system overall.

I really hope that MS somehow works it out so that laptops will actually get decent batt life outta this thing, because so far, from what i hear, things aren't too encouraging.
