Alright, so I've got a MSDN copy of Vista Business installed on my machine atm, 32-bit version. It's activated, all is well...

I plan on jumping to 64-bit, and I guess my serial is valid for both since I was offered the choice between the two after typing in my key in the setup.

So my question is, what do I have to do to reinstall the 64-bit version? "Deactivate" the old install before reformat, or just reinstall and call Microsoft and tell 'em "yeah, I just went 64-bit".

Hardware will be the same, the HDDs will just have gotten bigger.

You can't "deactivate" your OS... just re-activate online will do the trick. You won't have to even call. I'm about to do basically the same thing but on a completely different PC (Moving from 32bit on an old PC to a 64bit on a newer one, and putting my older PC back to XP (I have a Software Assurance license of Utlimate).
