I have a weird issue with Vista 64 when moving a file from my local drive to a network drive via a normal drag-n-drop. Vista/Explorer will freeze and I will need to reboot the PC. A right-click drag and drop (/w context menu) works fine and the funny thing is once I do a right-click drag and drop, the regular drag and drop starts to work without freezing my computer.
I have tried everything under the sun to correct this:
1) Reinstall Vista 64 SP 1 Ultimate
2) Change out Motherboard (Happens on both Intel P45 and i750 nForce)
3) Change out Ram
4) Reseat CPU and Heatsink
5) Try different versions of network drivers
I am using a wireless network with a draft-n card using a ralink chipset and drivers and a Trendnet N router using an athros chipset - both are draft-n 2.0.
I am able to do drag and drop normally from my old box that runs on a nforce 4 and athlon x2 5600 using the exact same card and running on vista 64 sp1.
I have searched the internet and found nothing.
I vaugly remember a hotfix for a similar issue, but unable to find it in the microsoft kb. The only other thing i can think of is replace the card.
