Only way this panel will be any good is if it's one of the Samsung/CSOT VA's but chances of that are slim.
 
I actually could not find out what panel this thing is using. I don't think its the one from AUO because that supposedly only has a 512 zone FALD with HDR1000 while this has 1152 dimming zones and HDR1400.
 
Ya, money is on AUO similar to PG35VQ.

Again, I don't think it's AUO because the specs do not match up. This is AUO's latest VA ultrawide:

While this Viewsonic has a 1500R curvature instead of 1000R, 1152 dimming zones instead of 512, and HDR1400 instead of HDR1000. Although I suppose this could be a newer version that TFTC never learned about, but the panel roadmap article only dates back to July 2022 so it should include such panel if it existed.

Maybe it's that first one but surely that would've been listed under the Mini LED section.

EDIT: TFTC did completely miss the 45" ultrawide OLED from LG on their panel roadmap article so yeah I guess there is a good chance this is going to be an AUO panel.

Q4 2022 scheduled production :eek: let's see who will the race to release between this and the upcoming 32" OLED from LG.

Really funny considering how much dislike the desaturated Samsung VA G7/G8 has, compared to the "colorful" C2 or whatever.
It will only be even more desaturated with a Samsung VA at HDR 1,400 that's is certified by 30-minute sustain test from VESA.
 
Wow what a waste. 4608 physical zones homogenized to groups of 4 likely to cut down processing/input lag.

A Neo G8 with 4K zones would be amazing. Looks like we are still 2-3 years away from such products or maybe a QD-OLED alternative.

It's even more funny considering thousands of zones of cheap backlight shine as good as HDR 200 of QD-OLED level.

It's notable that the 32" panel with 4608 zones also has four LEDs per zone, which inclines me to think that it's for some other reason than processing power. My guess would be it's to average out any differences in brightness or color temperature between individual LEDs so at least each zone is relatively uniform.
