After Reading the Max Payne 3 IQ & Performance Preview it says.

The total reported VRAM is a bit misleading though since you don't receive the combined VRAM of two video cards. Rather, you only have the VRAM limit of one GPU, since frames have to be replicated per framebuffer. So, you don't actually get 4GB of space with dual GPU configurations to work with. Therefore, it’s reporting of total VRAM in SLI or CFX is going to be not accurate.

So can I buy a 4 GB 670 GTX and SLI it with my 2 GB 670 GTX? For the purpose of having 4 GB of VRAM to work with.
 
Nope. SLI locks in both cards at the lower setting so that they are identical.

if you go sli if you want 4gb of vram you gotta match it :D
