Video Edit Software

Any suggestions on free software that can edit (length) and convert mpeg to flv format? I'm currently using a few programs but looking for one real good one. Thanks

if you have linux, or are okay with it, cinelerra was a good, free NLE

Don't know what a "real good one" would be, but I like avidemux for quick edits and conversions.

you may want to check out freemake's stuff http://www.freemake.com/free_video_converter/
it's been pretty decent for me converting files. I haven't messed around with any other parts of it though
