Video Card Passthrough stop working after VM rebooted

Hi all recently i worked on vitalizing my HTPC. I put my Radeon HD5750 card into my home server running ESXi 6.0, spun up a Win7 machine and installed the drivers for the card. Everything worked great but anytime i reboot the VM it shuts off halfway trough boot and i get the following error:

After rebooting the host the VM will power back on fine no problem.

i've been googleing my butt of and found a few tutorials and tips to fix the PCI error but still cant get it working correctly.
so far ive done the following:

Edited the VMX file and added the following
pciHole.start = "1200"
pciHole.end = "2200"
also
pciPassthru0.msiEnabled = "FALSE"
pciPassthru1.msiEnabled = "FALSE"
Also found a thread recommending to lock in the memory so i created a reservation
Also changed the VM BIOS to EFI​

But i'm still having this problem... i cant find anything else to try. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

[H] is roughly the last place where you could expect to get help with vfio. this was a great thread and in general that subreddit is a much, much better place for this.
 
Is the 5750 connected to a monitor? If not you may need to get a headless adapter. I know thats what you have to do with multiple VM's with individual GPU's assigned through unRAID
 
the 5750 is connected to a monitor via hdmi and works great until its rebooted

Then I am officially at a loss haha. I've been wanting to get more into virtualization, but haven't dove deep enough to really suggest much else :(
 
can you run "cat /var/log/vmkernel.log | grep vector" from the cli on the host with the pass-thru video card? Post the results if there are any (do this after you reboot the VM)
 
sorry for the late reply.. I recently changed the ram from 8gb to 12gb and the CPU from 1 socket and 4 cores to 2 sockets and 3 cores.

i've rebooted many times since and its been coming it up every time.. so not exactly sure why 4cpu and 8gb would cause an issue.
