VIA's New Centaur Designed Isaiah CPU Architecture @ [H]

does people look for processors beyond intel or amd ?????? it looks interesting though
 
I like the Via brand i have a mini itx that has a embbeded 1ghz c3 i think board in a atcs 100 case that i am trying to get a sata controller card and use as a data storage server.
 
Did this end up turning a profit for Via? I actually remember this article when it was first published.
 
This is exciting. It's really nice to see a third company in the CPU race, and being done differently than AMD/Intel.
 
Damn....VIA chips have come along way in the terms of performance and scalability.
 
Interesting but sadly I dont see it going to big and allowing for a really push against and and intel

The other processors are not even sold via retailers and installed in laptops and branded or custom built computers. On other hand their lack of performance for basic needs would be bad idea to have those at home. VIA sold CPUs in embedded form for more industrial applications.Although we have machine in work controlled by VIA Nehemiah C3 and it is so far the slowest computer I have ever used. Seems even computers 12 years or older were faster than this one.
 
Hello there I have a question and was wandering if I could get some help I recently received my via APC 8750 android computer and was curious if any one know if its possible to install Linux on there I have never used Linux and I'm hearing good things about it and figured this might be a good time to try on this computer if possible, the reason I ask is it seems like there are lots of little bug still on this apc8750 and I've been wanting to make a switch to Linux for some time if any one can help that would be great thank you

I've never seen so many missed periods without someone ending up pregnant at the end.
