Not sure if this is the right section...
Looking for opinions about the new Via netbook that can supposedly handle 1080 thanks to its new chip?
 
in my opinion, if they advertised it with it. about handling 1080, it supposingly should lol. my experience with VIA chipset.. like 2002 models on hp, couldnt even handle 17inch lcd screen. it was all fuzzy. /shrugs
 
HD decoder chips are quite mature now, aside from crappy Intel GMA IGPs, 1080p HD video is well within reach of even the most low-powered devices.

From what I have heard and read the new Via notebooks/netbooks/whatever like the NC20 are very competitive with Atom-based netbooks, and will give the latter a run for their money in more intensive applications. Definitely not a bad deal :)
