VGS 4: Dear God! Think of the Children Edmonton, Alberta, Canada June 25-26

Our next event is happening June 25 and 26. The first day will contain all of the gaming, tournaments, etc. This is happening at the Edmonton New Technology Society. The second day will be to announce all of the winners and distribute any prizes that we can get our hands on.

The thing we are doing differently this time around is that we have partnered with the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation to help raise some money for the Foundation. We will be collecting donations on site and any profits we have from the event will also be donated to the Foundation.

Duke Nukem Forever : 2v2 Team Dukematch

Spots: 8 Teams of 2 People

Format: Double Elimination

Maps: TBD (Seeing as I don't really know what the maps are yet)

Match Length: 10 min, Best of 3 Final Match

Prizes: 2 FPSFreek Controller Attachments from KontrolFreek, 2 T Shirts from Kingston

1:30 pm - Starcraft 2 Tournament Starts
2:30 pm - Duke Nukem Forever Tournament Starts
7 pm - League of Legends Tournament Starts
Sunday, 1:00 am - Closing Time
Sunday, 1:00 PM - Awards Ceremony at Hudson's Downtown

We will be selling tickets at the door until 7pm but please try to prepay. This allows us to know how much money we are working with and will let us increase our prize pools accordingly. Also, each of our tournament winners will get free entry into a future Velocityraptor Gaming Series event to defend their crown.

Rather than stop gaming to give out prizes during the event, we are going to have our awards ceremony on Sunday at Hudson's Downtown. This is where we will distribute the prizes to winners and give away some of our door prizes. Part of your registration fee is also going toward getting food at Hudsons, so you may as well come and eat the food you are paying for. We will have an Xbox set up and we will be holding a King of the Hill tournament in either Street Fighter 4 or Mortal Kombat.

We do also have tickets for people who are only looking to play Xbox 360. Other than the Duke Nukem Forever tournament, these systems can be used to play whatever everybody feels like. If you want to play Xbox, please bring your own controller as we will not be supplying more than 1 per system. Also, if there is a game you want to play, bring it, as we won't have any games other than Duke Nukem available.
What do I bring

• Computer
• Monitor (Please no bigger than 24 inches)
• Keyboard
• Mouse
• Xbox Controller (if you want to play)
• Donation for the Stollery (unless you are cold and dead inside). A $25 donation will get you a tax receipt.
• Updated Starcraft 2 and League of Legends
• Power Bar (We will have a few available, but not enough for everyone)
• Headphones

What can't I bring

• Desk Chair. There will be more than enough chairs, and we can't fit everybodies Lazy Boy sized office chairs
• Speakers. You're either playing with headphones or no sound.
• Bad Attitude. Everybody wants to have a good time, don't ruin it.
• Something other than your computer and monitor that needs to be plugged into a wall socket. We're already doing some electrical work to make sure it can handle all of the PCs.

What do I get for coming?

• Most importantly, that warm, fuzzy feeling knowing that you are helping to support two excellent not-for-profit organizations within your community.
