i am trying to attempt to fix a makita battery charger that smoked a varistor and the soldered in fuse, i have the parts but was wondering if the varistor needs to go a certain way ?

like is there postive or negative ?

would that be considered polarity ?

i can't find a schematic but ordered the parts from a online tool parts house

Can you post the part number? With that, we can figure out which way is right.

Varistors (Voltage Dependant Resistors) have no polarity.

i have no idea what the part numbers are as i cant find any schematics from makita, but bought parts online from a tool repair site that worked.

Varistors (Voltage Dependant Resistors) have no polarity.

i kinda guessed that and took a chance, 50/50 odds and it worked :)
