NVIDIA has Adaptive VSync. It turns VSync off when the framerate is below the monitor's refresh rate. NVIDIA will never support Freesync because that is AMD's proprietary software. Whether or not they will support VESA Adaptive Sync or HDMI VRR on desktop video cards is still a question that is up in the air.

Yes, I was meaning DisplayPort Adaptive-Sync that is built into the Displayport 1.2 standard.

Technically it seems like you could get some of the benefits of Adaptive Sync on any 120hz+ monitor that uses DP if either company wanted to support the actual standard in drivers and not force their branding into it.
