I'd like to be able to copy/paste (at least text) from my windows desktop into the remote console of either the web client or legacy client on an Ubuntu VM.

I found this KB , but it didn't make a difference after adding the 2 rows.

Currently I've been using team viewer or RDP, and it would be so much better if i could get it to work via console.

Anyone got any ideas?

Copy paste into a VM through vSphere client has always been hit or miss for me, even with the 2 options enabled. I just use RDP or connect to a network share if I need to move files into a VM.

Shit that's exactly what I expected, while hoping otherwise.

Is there a good RD client that supports Ubuntu with unity, OSX, and winodws?

I'm using team viewer like I said but don't really like idea of a third party involved. My exp with RDP + linux has been hit or miss.

RDS client from microsoft works fairly well on OSX. Get the one from the app store

You have never been able to copy and paste into the vSphere console. We had this issue with 400 VMs that had to be FSCKd when a filer they were residing on went down. Stupid complex passwords....... We have since automated the recovery process from this with a special ISO and VMWare PowerCLI.
