When we set up new systems at work, we use a (Domain) account that has admin privs, that we can enable / disable as we need to.

Part of setting up the new systems includes installing the entire Microsoft Office Professional Suite.

So the first time Word or Excel or PowerPoint is opened by us, under this quasi-admin account, we put in "MIS" for user initials and company name.

Then, when the system goes out to the end user, they log in under their own logon name. When they open an Office application up for the first time under their own logon, it sees a new user, and again prompts for initials and company name.

People have been putting in their personal initials, and the actual company name.

Yesterday our company administrator (big shot) came in and declared he does not want any personal information attached to any documents, especially the company name.

We've changed our setup procedure so we (MIS) logon under whomever we THINK the system is going to go to, and put in "MIS" under the initials and company name. Takes care of any new documents created on that machine.

But, we've probably got 20000 documents saved by people in the past that still have their personal initials and company name attached to the doc.

Other than having every person open every document in their (networked) personal folder, and change personal information one document at a time, is there a tool, utility, or easy way to blanket change identifying information on any Office generated file in an entire directory at a time?

Thanks for any help.

Bump because I posted this at a busy time and it took all of 30 seconds to get moved off the top 100 new posts.

Anybody?
