Using my 6800gt with my Widescreen Sony

Hey, I recently got my 6800gt and now I want to hook it up to my widescreen tv through the dvi. However, when I hook it up the picture won't all fit on the screen. About half of it gets cutoff. I've tried different resolutions and stuff, but I haven't been able to find any widescreen modes. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
 
You have to add custom widescreen modes. It's fairly easy to do in Rivatuner.
 
Okay, I downloaded Rivatuner and I've been trying to add different resolitions in the 16x9 asepct ratio. However they never look right with windows. I can't believe there isn't just an hdtv widescreen option somewhere that will make everything look nice :)
 
it's a little more complicated than that because you need to get frequency timings correct. Head on over to Avs forum and look in the Home Theater pc section.

and a quick FYI: 1280x720 is 720p htdv
1920x1080 is 1080i hdtv
