USB drive previously written w/ win32diskimager...now unable create volume

I used this drive as the boot drive for FreeNAS and am no longer using it. I deleted all the volumes from it and now for some reason windows won't let me create a volume using it's unallocated space. How do I get around this?

try diskpart from windows command line. I've had this happen numerous times after creating certain partition to use USB to boot off of

For most messed up drives this will be enough to get it working normally again.

• DISKPART> list disk
• DISKPART> select disk (id)
• DISKPART> clean

The "clean" is what fixes it most of the time.
