Not exactly a PSU question, but does anyone here know of a device that can take usb-c power delivery (off of a usb-c battery pack), then automatically go through the handshake / auto-negations to output power at 12v at 3-5a on a dc barrel connector?

The closest thing i've found to wiring something similar is this:

I think making one of those is a little above my skill level, and would be cool if someone just made a cable with a switch that let you set the output voltage.

nevermind, answered my own question and ordered some of these: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/ZY1...harge-Trigger-Polling-Device/32911057550.html

looks like a few other people online have used them to power 12v devices over usb pd battery packs, no documentation but looks like you just solder some leads on the back of the chip to lock it in to 12v (or any other voltage) vs the other one I previously posted that had a wheel to select what voltage it negotiates.

Hey sorry for the necro. But I'm literally trying to do the same exact thing. Did the zy12pds work out for you? What did you solder to lock the chip into 12v?

Other things came up and I never got around to starting the project. Just tested one of them though (hadn't even pulled them out of the packaging). There is a push button, it always starts at 5v then cycles through the different voltages when you push the button. Seems like it will work for my uses next winter (planned to use a battery pack and create a heated jacket using carbon tape).

Great thanks for the info. I need 12v 2.5a output out of usb PD. So I'm going to pair the ZYPDS super mini. Which has a fixed voltage output of 15v or 20v (no need to push buttons) with a step down dc/dc board to bring it down to 12v. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32998937888.html

If I feel ambitious, I might 3d print a custom case for it and should be good to go.

GL with your project.
