I am in the process of planning a complete overhaul for my home lab and I need help figuring out PowerDist/UPS for my new setup.

1x Synology DS1812+ w/ 5x 4TB + 3xSSD
2x Citrix Nodes (Intel ITX board, Xeon E3-1265L, 16GB ECC)
1x Motorola Cable Modem
1x PFSense Router (Jetway ITX, Atom 525)
1x HP 1810-24g
1x HDHomeRun CC
1x CC Tuning Adaptor

So I guess I need help figuring out how much power this will all use.
Secondly, how can i make sure that my Storage + Citrix Nodes(VMs) Shutdown Gracefully?
Finally, I want to make sure that my modem/router are up the longest.

How long of runtime are you wanting? I have my network gear on a seperate UPS from my Hyper V and Stnology NAS.

I like APC, mainly because I like using apcupsd, since I can monitor it with nagios, network it and use it on almost any platform (win, linux, bsd etc). And since I can get good models at a decent price with refurbups.

I like Liebert, GTX2 or GTX3.. But depends what you want to spend.

Personally i like the true online UPS, often you can find used and might just have to replace batteries which are relatively cheap.
