I had a GTX 1070 in my box that I had upgraded to because I primarily game still at 1080p. This came from being on a 970. It was better but it wasn't worlds better.

New MSI Gaming 7 Motherboard.. 32 gig of ram, 1TB Samsung 960 M.2 NVME drive and 7700 CPU. When I was at 45-50 FPS in WOW (I know) now I'm at 140+fps. It is literally worlds better.

Will update my sig soon.

Very nice!
I can't quite tell- Was the FPS jump after only the processor upgrade or everything else too?

I'm surprised a 970 only got you 45fps

No it was a 1070. I was running a 1070 on an 840 pro SSD, with 16gb of ddr 2 or was it 3 it's 3 ram in dual channel. Not OC so at 3.4 ghz. And I was pulling down around 45+50 fps. BUT I upgraded.. CPU to a 7700, motherboard to a new 270 chipset mobo and 32 gig of DDR4 2666 ram in 2 sticks. Rocking the house, oh and a 1tb NVMe PCIE 3 x4 samsung 960 storage. So yea.. all around improvement.

that's to be expected Kaby Lake it's about 30% - 35% faster clock for clock versus sandy bridge, on top of that you went for 3.5ghz (3.4+turbo boost on 4 cores) to straight 4.6ghz so another ~30% in clock speed increase, fast DDR4 and of course a whole new optimized chipset and overall platform, yes the bump in performance was expected to be gargantuan, anyway.. gratz on your new platform, enjoy it.
