hey i was wondering if upgrading from an x2 3800+ to a x2 4400+ is worth ot of o have to downgrade from a 7800gtx oc to a plain 7800gt?????

thanks

I'd say it is. The 4400+ has 1mb cache on each core. The 7800GT almost matches the performance of a 7800GTX.

4400+ is the shit. To put it simply. And I got 2.62 Totally Stable out of it.
So thats like having 2 FX 55s in the Box at one time, it rocks :)

i voted stay the same.. though, is it possible to squeeze a 4200+ into the budget with a 7800gtx?

While you will see different numbers in benchmarks, you wont be able to tell the difference in everyday use.

On that, save yourself some hassle.

I would say it depends on what you are primarily using the computer for. If you're gaming, then definitely stick with the 3800+/GTX. If you dont game that much, but do CPU intensive tasks, then you may benefit more from upgrading.

Well, a x2 4400+ and a 7800 GT makes a better all-around system than a x2 3800+ and a 7800 GTX. It will probably be a wash in games, but better all-around for everything else.

wash cars and mow lawns and get both the 4400+ and the GTX :p

what are you mainly using ur system for? that info would help the decision

well i built this syystem to game but know i am not a loud 2 computers in my room i will be on the internet at the forums, instant messaging and gaming, also homework....

Well isnt the 7800GT the same as the 7800GTX just at higher clocks? But the differnce between the 3800 and the 4400 is a .5gig chache

No...the 7800GT has less pipes...20 vs. 24 on GTX
