Depends what you're doing, for most workloads such as gaming and general productivity no.Is the heatsink really even needed?
If you're doing heavy video editing and/or encoding it can hammer the disk hard enough to get it to throttling temps.
99% of the time just a thermal pad on the nvme controller is sufficient (if any).
