Upgrade from XP to Vista 64, Elite Pro Volume not working

New transition from XP 32-bit to Vista 64-bit, and really enjoying it so far. However have found some iissues regarding my Elite Pro.

Unable to install using the original CD drivers. The only way I can get it to work is if I force it to under XP SP2, then install the lastest drivers.

Everything works, really no problems at all, minus I can't adjust my volume with the external knob / remote control. If I push it in, mute does work, just not the volume. I can control it via the creative sound icon, but I'd really prefer to be able to adjust it on the fly for gaming reasons.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance!
 
Odd...I've never had a problem installing drivers for my Elite Pro under Vista x64 (screw the CD, though--I've always gone with the web driver packages and nothing else, just to minimize the bloat). Though I didn't know/remember about the volume knob thing...which actually works on mine as of right now, so color me surprised.
