Hey fellas,
A friend of mine has the following CPU and board: AMD Phenom X4 940 and M5A78L-M/USB3.
He is trying to install ATI 280 on it and it doesn’t work. So he thinks it is because of old BIOS on an old gen 760G. He failed to update the BIOS using BIOS rom from official site. Tried both ways, from the BIOS ez-flash and within windows using Asus utility. In both situations the PC failed to recognize the ROM and he managed to brick the board. The BIOS and utility shows "Loading" and nothing happens. It seems like the latest BIOS is not made for the board. The ATI 280 is working on a different machine and the pen drive was formatted as FAT32 as suggested by Asus.
He got a new one from Asus and is facing same issues.
I guess there is something more to this than what we think.
