I recently purchased dual BFG 7800GTX's for my system. However, the core clock speed is at 275mhz, which seems very low according to what the stock clock should be. This is from Riva Tuner.

$1100000000 Title : GeForce 7800 GTX VGA BIOS
$1100000002 Version : 5.70.02.11.25
$1100000100 BIT version : 1.00
$1100000200 Core clock : 275MHz
$1100000201 Memory clock : 1200MHz
$1100010000 Perf. level 0 : 275MHz/650MHz/1.20V/100%
$1100010001 Perf. level 1 : 415MHz/650MHz/1.40V/100%
$1100010002 Perf. level 2 : 460MHz/650MHz/1.40V/100%
$1100020000 VID bitmask : 00000011b
$1100020100 Voltage level 0 : 1.20V, VID 00000000b
$1100020101 Voltage level 1 : 1.30V, VID 00000010b
$1100020102 Voltage level 2 : 1.40V, VID 00000001b

It appears that the 460mhz clock speed is in there, but do I need to change a jumper setting or voltage in BIOS to get the 460mhz clock? I'm using the 77.72 drivers, on a Foxconn NFPIK8AA nforce4 Pro mobo.

Upon further review with Riva Tuner and the option for Driver level overclocking, it lists my standard 2D clock at 275mhz, my low power 3D at 415mhz, and my performance 3D at 460mhz.

I am not sure what all that means, but any help is appreciated!

Its part of the 7800GTX's design. The 7800GTX has dynamic clock speeds for certain parts of the GPU to reduce heat and power consumption. When the card is in 2D mode or otherwise idle it doesn't need to run at 430MHz or 460MHz, so the card opperates at lesser speeds. Its very similar to the thermal management in a Pentium 4 600 series processor or Pentium-D.

When you OC on that card you are essentially setting its maximum clock rate. So nothing to worry about.

So after you get your OC going can you send your 3DMark05 score to me, or post it here please?

That is, if you are not against 3DMark like some are.

I already posted my 3dmark05 score in page 117 of that thread. 11308. I was just curious if the 275mhz core clock signaled something faulty with my cards.
