I have a asrock phantom gaming 4 x570 board, and according to the specs it has a REALTEK ALC1200, but when I google this chip, it seems to be 10+ years old. I see many pages about ALC1220 which is a much newer chip that other newer boards have... Is it actually an ALC1200? Also It says 7.1 but there is only a mic in, line in, and stereo output, so IDK how they expect you to run 7.1 from this thing. Anybody have any way I can figure out which codec it actually has?

Look at the chip on the board. It'll be somewhere along the back edge between the rear jacks and the front panel audio header

As for 7.1 capability, maybe you can use the rear jacks + the front panel audio header to make 8 audio channels.

Seems like it is ALC1200, strange... IDK why they'd use such an old codec?

Looks like that's true, interesting...
